Member Update on COVID-19

As we continue to move through the Coronavirus / COVID-19 epidemic, we wanted to provide our members an update on how WCA is dealing with the situation, as well as provide your with a few resources you may need.

  • All meetings and courses scheduled to be held at WCA's office through April 14 are postponed. If you have signed up for a course between now and April 14, you will automatically be refunded. We will make every effort to hold these courses once the situation allows for it.

  • WCA's Curling Bonspiel which was set for March 27 has been cancelled. If you had registered you will automatically receive a refund.

  • Our Manitoba Construction Career Expo is still on for now. We are monitoring the situation and will let you know if it's still going to happen no later than April 14.

  • BuildWorks Canada should continue to function as normal for all your Construction Information needs.

Federal programs to assist employers and employees

We have received questions from several members asking for clarification on the measures the federal government announced, including the new temporary measure for Employment Insurance and the Work-Share program.

We are seeking clarification on these programs and will provide and update to our members when we have more information. In the meantime, you can visit the Government of Canada's website here for information on these programs.
